Poorground is a custom fabrication shop in San Francisco's Mission District. We design, build, and install the physical work behind exhibitions, retail spaces, restaurants, and events — structures you can stand on, fixtures that take a beating, pieces that have to land on a deadline.
What sets us apart is that it all happens with one team. The people who design a piece are the people who weld it and install it — so nothing gets lost between the drawing and the finished work on site, and there's no one to point at when a date gets tight. We're accountable for the whole thing.
We believe the best builds are honest: rough where they need to be, precise where it matters. Every project starts with understanding the material — whatever it's made of, what it can do and what it can't — and ends with the finished piece standing where it belongs.
Concept, form, and buildable design — from a brief or a blank page, developed around the materials, budget, and how each piece gets made and installed.
Metal and mixed-material builds — welding, CNC, sheet metal, and structural assemblies, plus screen, lighting, and AV integration built right in.
On-site rigging, mounting, transport, and field assembly — delivered, installed, and aligned where it belongs.
Concept to functional prototype, fast. Iterative design-build cycles across physical materials, CNC, and hybrid systems.
CNC-routed assemblies, architectural panels, and built-in elements. Primarily sheet goods and engineered materials, finished to spec.
Designed, built, and installed — under one roof.
