Suspended Digital Display Array

Fabrication Steel Aircraft Cable LCD Panels

A grid of portrait screens that had to hang dead-level above a gallery floor and read as a single surface. We built custom steel frames on cable suspension, tuned so the array lines up and the hardware disappears.

Overview

Suspended array of portrait digital displays, fabricated for the NODE Foundation digital art exhibition in Palo Alto, California. Custom steel mounting frames hang from cable suspension above the gallery floor, presenting grids of digital artworks. Each frame was fabricated to precise tolerances so the displays read as a clean, aligned set across the room.

Fabrication Process

Steel mounting frames were cut, welded, finished, and rigged for cable suspension. Mounting and power were integrated into the frame so the installed array could read as a unified surface rather than individual screens.
